What User doesn't like about Kamayan Cafe:
I had the salmon sushi with green tea and both were fine. The treats didn't look fresh and looked a lot like a Sara Lee frozen cake so I wasn't tempted to try them. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Service was fine View all feedback.
The Kamayan Cafe is located in Nhulunbuy's shopping center behind Woolies. From the outside, you would never know the wide choice of fresh food and drinks available, or the friendly and welcoming staff inside who always greet customers with a smile and a chat. We quickly became regulars for their large coffees, fresh juices, and a delicious selection of lunch options. Mama was always busy at the wok, creating fantastic meals. As someone who is gluten-free, I often opted for the rice paper and sushi rolls, but there were plenty of other tasty options to choose from. We highly recommend a visit to the Kamayan Cafe - you won't regret it! A big thank you for their wonderful service. We hope to visit again soon. Cheers, Steve and Joanne Orr, Boyne Island, Queensland.
I ordered the salmon sushi and green tea, both of which were delicious. The sushi rolls looked fresh, but the tasty bites resembled a frozen Sara Lee cake, so I opted not to try them. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating options, and the service was excellent.
The café is situated in the bustling city center, a charming little spot with a cozy outdoor seating area. The food is consistently fresh, and the staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly. A word of advice: because it is always so busy, customers should be ready to eat quickly if they want their food hot, as it tends to sell out fast! I have to agree, this place is a hidden gem for a comforting meal.
I was in kamayan a few times, including my last visit to nhulunbuy last week. the atmosphere is so warm and friendly and the ladies there have a cheerful greeting for absolutely all, regular and strange equally. The prices are very reasonable and the coffee is good. the food looks fresh and tasty and this last visit I had a speck and eierroller that was raised! piping hot, super fresh, generously filled with speck and two eggs I was in the brekkie heaven. I will not hesitate to go back when I visit this part of the top end and I would recommend it to everyone. when sitting in the outdoor terrace area, they are ready to share their eating (especially hot chips) with the curious and friendly sulfur-created kakaduos, which is for a tasty egg. salamat po, ladies!
Discretely located behind Woolies in Nhulunbuy’s shopping centre, the Kamayan Cafe was a gem of a find. From the outside you’d never know the range of fresh food and drink options available, or the friendly and welcoming staff inside who always greeted us with a...smile and a chat. Quickly became our daily drop-in for great coffee, fresh juices, and a wide range of delicious lunch options. Mama was always busy at the wok cranking out great meals. For gluten-free me the rice paper and sushi rolls were my go-to options. However, there were loads of other tasty options to choose from. Do yourselves a big favour and give the Kamayan Cafe a go. You won’t regret it! Thank you Ladies for your wonderful service. Hope to see you again one day. Cheers, Steve and Joanne Orr, Boyne Island, Queensland
