A paradise for seafood lovers, traditionally or with a spin: excellent, high-quality products, varied preparations to the most demanding or simple palates, well-chosen wines and extremely friendly and competent service. We came by chance, thanks to TheFork, but would come back at any time. Grazie mille per tutto???? View all feedback.
Had one of the most memorable dinning experiences I've had for some time at Linda's on King last night. Wandering around King looking for something new, my friend and I stumbled past an unassuming specials board that drew me in a split second with offerings of kangaroo fillet W/ beetroot puree and blue berries, we were sold. We were kindly greeted (despite me wearing an outfit more appropriate for a rave than dinning) and seated in an ambient setting that seemed to fine dinning's perfect attempt at riffing a casual environment. Once presented with the menu, we were overwhelmed with options that all seemed to offer a brilliant dinning experience but my love of traditional French won out and I went with the Duck confit W/ duck fat potato's, Brussels sprouts and red wine pear and the Christmas Pudding cocktail. Within 15 minutes we were presented with pipping hot, aromatic plates where the eye was drawn to all of the small details. I have to say.. Duck Confit is a dish that I simply have never said no to on a menu and can compare what I had at Linda's to 20+ other times I've had this dish and it was simply the most succulent and delicious piece of duck that I've had. I'm also at a loss as to how you guys have found such a balance with the elements used in the Christmas pudding cocktail, it was superb. Linda's will be a dinning experience that I will defiantly be repeating and would highly suggest to anyone else.
Linda's has been one of our favorites for sometime and after a short break they returned to King Street, this time with a kids menu. It has been a cornerstone of the newtown dinning scene for ages and they really reflect the culture in this part of Sydney. The restaurant is lovely and rustic however the quality of food and gluten free options are excellent. Being BYO is also great especially if you have a well stocked wine fridge at home. We have had quite a few dinners here plus recommended them to Peterson house who held a members dinner here a while back. They put on a great show and closed the restaurant for 2 nights to cater for the wine dinners. Well worth a look.
Beautiful interesting food prepared with care and attention to the seasonal freshness of ingredients. Amazing value and excellent service. Why am I telling you this?! I should keep this terrific restaurant a secret!
Best eating ever, great food, great service, absolute great dining without pretentiousness. Cannot recommend highly enough.
I have been a customer of this restaurant for over 20 years. Linda's food is amazing. I still rave about her seafood chowder, even though it is no longer on the menu. Be sure to save room for dessert.
