The food was bland and served lukewarm. However, the wine was good. The service was inconsistent; while one gentleman who attended to us was polite and made an effort to accommodate our needs, the damage was already done. Earlier, a woman who was rushing us failed to place part of our order, which led us to ultimately cancel it and leave. View all feedback.
The fish and chips were great. The tacos and pot pie were just okay.
Loved the visual environment. Good food. Small bar usually has reserved cards for the majority of seats. Extremely loud costs no acoustic ceiling or walls keep us from returning
Me and my team tried this place yesterday for lunch. They surprising have a big lunch crowd during the week lol. I ordered the Fish and Chips, And some of the guys ordered the pub burgers. Great experience overall!
We visit all the restaurants on Balboa Island and Royal Hen is by far the best! Always festive and fantastic dishes. Try the hot sourdough bread and the salmon!
Amazing experience! It was a busy night during the holidays. They originally couldn’t accommodate our reservation but they texted a couple hours after when something freed up. It’s a level of customer engagement you never see in SoCal. It was the perfect night for our family visiting from out of town and I can’t say enough about our experience. Highly recommend.
