Lighthouse Cafe - Newport Beach

The service and food was absolutely amazing! So was the view! Came here on a whim and would go back again for sure!

I happened to have lunch with a colleague as we had both finished teaching a kids camp in the community center right next to the Cafe. My colleague said that she was in love with the Coconut shrimp and I agreed to have lunch with her. She ordered a small bowl of the clam chowder and the coconut shrimp and I had Mahi mahi tacos with a micro greens side salad. The service was great and the atmosphere of hanging out on the patio was amazing!! Super, duper chilled out vibes. I can see why they also take reservations. If everyone got word about how incredible Lighthouse Cafe is, it would have longer lines. The wait isn't at all bad. There are plenty of seats and tables upstairs and down on the ground floor. The fish is absolutely delicious, fresh, and prepared beautifully. Truly, it was one of the best lunches I have had while on a break from work!! I would highly recommend the Lighthouse Cafe if you find yourself on the Balboa Peninsula. I heard that the weekend brunch is wonderful. They offer a Mimosa brunch all you can eat/drink deal too. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian selections are marked on the menu. Parking: Depending on the time of day and either the weekend or weekdays will determine the availability of parking. Morning and late afternoon time is the best. Kid-friendliness: The cafe is attached to the Newport Marina community center and there's a park, a beach, slides, grassy areas, everything a kid needs to run around and have a great time. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible and parking spots are available.

I paid $49.99 for 10oz old steak that they had to recook twice that I could have cooked for $15.00. Service was horrible had to yell to get attention from waitress. Only good thing was salad and cocktails.

Review of the Lighthouse Restaurant I recently dined at the Lighthouse Restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Our evening began on a disappointing note when we were greeted by a server who reeked of cigarette smoke and had visibly dirty pants, which was quite off-putting. We initially requested to sit at an outdoor table but were informed by the hostess that all outdoor tables were reserved. However, throughout our meal, we noticed that these tables remained empty. We also asked to be seated on the empty patio upstairs but were again told those tables were reserved, yet they were still unoccupied when we left. The food quality did not meet our expectations. The garlic bread was stale and chewy, prompting us to send it back to the kitchen. The clam chowder and the lemon drop martini were both lukewarm. Additionally, my husband's dinner was inexplicably split onto two plates, despite him not requesting this. To top it off, the restrooms were in an unacceptable state, a disgusting nightmare that further tarnished our dining experience. Given these numerous issues, we will not be returning to the Lighthouse Restaurant.

The food is delightful, with the scampi primavera standing out for its rich flavors and fresh ingredients. The honey-glazed grilled salmon is cooked to perfection—fresh, juicy, and accompanied by tasty grilled vegetables. The seared ahi sandwich is equally impressive, expertly cooked and served with fries. Additionally, the wagyu bourbon burger is bursting with flavor and juiciness, also paired with fries. Considering the quality of the food and the prime location, the prices are quite reasonable. Overall, it's a wonderful spot to enjoy a meal.
