Hopdoddy - Newport Beach

One reason I took away a star was that they brought us fries that weren’t what we ordered. We asked for the Parm Truffle fries but received BBQ Ranch instead. It was a bit challenging to find a server to let them know, since the restaurant doesn't have a full staff on hand. Another reason for the star deduction was our drink order. We ordered a beer and a Moscow mule. I noticed the bartender spending quite a bit of time helping someone at the bar instead of attending to our drinks. After making them, he left them sitting at the station for a while. I considered going to pick them up myself since he was not bringing them over, which left me quite confused about his service. It didn’t seem like the bar was particularly busy—there was only one other customer. By the time he finally delivered our drinks, especially on a hot day, the beer had gone flat. Putting those two issues aside, once our food arrived, it was really good. I ordered the El Diablo burger, which had a nice, sharp kick to it. I also tried the Bacon Double Jam burger, which was even more flavorful and quickly became my personal favorite. The Parm Truffle fries are fantastic as well.

I had a good experience at the restaurant. The Good Night/Good Thing burger with hot honey was delicious, and the sweet potato fries were quite tasty as well. I like the concept of the place. However, the hostess who took our order didn’t seem to have much knowledge about the menu, so she wasn’t able to offer any personal recommendations.

Great burger place! The Speck Double Marmalade Burger ($12) is incredible. They have a nice beer selection and parking is easy.

After a day at Fashion Island, you're often in the mood for a good burger, and this place definitely delivers. However, be prepared for potentially long lines on weekends or holidays, with waits of about 15-20 minutes to order. Once you've placed your order, though, the food arrives fairly quickly. The offerings are tasty, dependable, and there’s a wide variety to choose from. I particularly enjoyed the new sides and sauces they've introduced! While the burger may not be life-changing or the absolute best you've ever had, it's still quite delicious. As a former Austin resident, it's great to see Austin chains thriving in this area!

Hopdoddy is one of my favorite burger spots. The burgers and drinks are fantastic, especially compared to other fast food places! I highly recommend it if you haven't tried it yet!
