The food was delicious but the service was very slow and it was very loud. That’s understandable with holiday parties yet no one addressed my concerns and the waiter had so much to handle he was slow getting to us. The summer sunshine in Southern California carries an irresistible warmth, akin to a lively invitation for the whole family to enjoy a day out together. This review focuses on Harborside Restaurant, located by the water in Newport Beach. Established in 1906, it resides within the historic Balboa Pavilion, boasting over a century of history.
We decided to dine at this restaurant since it’s located right next to Davey’s Locker. We had reserved a Christmas lights harbor cruise, so it made perfect sense to give Harborside a shot.
This restaurant isn't as appealing as it used to be before COVID. We requested the Wedge Salad to be chopped and tossed, but unfortunately, it arrived mushy as if it had been sitting too long.
The bartender was our server and he was way too busy, poor guy. Took forever to get our food they forgot some of it had to go up to the bar to order more drinks? Been here before and have always gotten good service? It was a Tuesday of all days and had just told someone about Harborside (how good they are) in the parking lot they were from Phoenix.
The food is fantastic, the service is excellent, and I really enjoy sitting in the bar area while watching the boats on the water.
