Citrus - Newport Beach

We ate for the first time in Bambu on the New Year's Eve (2014). We moved to Fairmont with beautifully illuminated trees, a very efficient and polite Valet and then went to the lobby where a beautiful holiday ad was. When we asked where the restaurant was, they introduced us directly where we could actually see the host standing. The ambience was that of a Mariott Suites where you would go to the coffee. Very high ceilings, open tables with nothing around them and none of the tables had linen. For a special NYE dinner! The food was great and we went there because of the five stars we saw on the grounds. We brought our own wine and enjoyed the fun Amuse Bouche, the delicious wild mushroom tart and the lobster ravioli appetizers. My husband loved the crab and ginger dumpling Consommé (more than my winter green salad! We had the Filet entrée and the Seas Scallops entrée and both were fabulous. The scallops were cooked for perfection, and we both agreed to the best we ever had! The dessert was a non-descript Grand Marnier Souffle without any other option. Neither of us like it, so they just sat unaffected. We would also have preferred a dessert option, even if only ice cream or sherbet. We originally had another couple with us, but they had to cancel, so we went anyway. Due to the lack of ambience and terrible dining room, we were glad that we went from ourselves. The food was amazing. How would you ever keep this cook? We cannot go back because the ambience affects the whole experience, so we hope that Fairmont will adapt the menu to the environment and attract us again!

My mother and I enjoyed a delicious meal here. Our Piper server was such a pleasure and made the experience wonderful. We had a great time!

Food is.pretty and delicious. I had a salad and a smoothie with bee pollen in it. They have roof beehives so that honey and pollen are as local as possible.

The food the drinks and the atmosphere were excellent and the service was excellent waiter waitress and all participants would highly recommend and go again! Thank you.
