We stopped here, mostly to have a drink, but because we were vacationing, I had to try the clam chowder, and our waiter had me try the Rhode Island clam chowder, which was surprisingly amazing. I didn’t know there was such a thing. Our waiter was friendly and helpful in suggesting and giving us samples of Rhode Island local IPAs for us to try. He made our vacation experience very enjoyable. This was a great night spe... View all feedback.
What jon smith doesn't like about Benjamin's:
We went to celebrate our anniversary on a Wednesday evening. After placing our orders, half of the appetizers showed up. Before finishing the half order of the appetizers our meals showed up. Finally the other half arrived while into our entrees. Ordered a second drink when soon after the waitress asked if I wanted the check. I said I’m still waiting for my drink I ordered. Her reply was well I never put it in and ro... View all feedback.
The black pepper corn option au poivre style was 10/10.
Forced 20% gratuity (we are a party of two) paid cash and didn’t get the change back until we asked. The change amount doesn’t even match the receipt (deliberately rounded up the decimals which is not much but very disturbing)
We used to love going here every time we were in town, but after or last encounter I will have to rethink our decision. We went there on two occasion while we were in town for a few days. Our dinner on Sunday night was amazing the server went over and beyond even when we had a little mix up with the order( that was on me). Then we went there during lunch time and it was a nightmare. We were seated, my husband asked for a glass of ice and I asked for their drink menu and that was brought right over, and that was the end of it. No one bothered to even come over to ask us for our drink order or even to enquire if we were being helped. I understand if it was busy but it was not. The server passed by multiple times and didn’t say anything. We sat there for like 20 min then my patience ran out. When my husband asked for a manager they gave us a run around. No one wanted to give us their names or anything. They tried to tell us that we seated ourselves and when we told the waiter that you seated us brought us a glass of ice and menus, she looked at us like we had 2 heads. I simple apology would of been just fine but all we got was rude comments and looks like we are out of space. The staff really needs hospitality training and communicate with each other. That could have been easily resolved if one member asked the other what’s going with that table.
Unknown on food as we waited 1 hour for 6 oysters and left. Only 10 clients. Worst place ever
We were upstairs, asked the waitress if we could sit outside (another family was in there), she rolled her eyes, shook her head and set up a table. She took drink orders, she took lunch orders. 3 of us received our order, my husband didn't. When we asked she said she didn't get his order. She was at the bar apparently discuss us with her dark haired friend and the bartender. The dark hair girl turned and looked at us. He received his meal when we were pretty much done. Please coach your waitress not to bring bad attitudes into the work place.
