No doubt to accept this restaurant serves best Indian food in RI. Ahww!! No wonder it is best indian food I tasted in USA. We are there this weekend on a trip to Newport , RI. The place is pretty tucked in front of the beach. With no expectation we landed and ordered some lunch specials along with some garlic cilantro naan and kadhai chicken. Firstly, let me comment on the taste. Their way of cooking is made to satisfy the crowd both indian and non indian taste buds. Secondly, the staff are efficient and prompt responding. They are maintaining the place pretty neat and thirdly the price is really worth giving for the quantity and quality.
I wish Maharaja was close by to Hartford. Best Indian food I have tasted in the USA. So far have made two trips, both times for lunch. Love their panner tikka appetizer and vegetable curry. With the appetizer too you get to choose to get a bread or rice. So as with the curry. It's a delightful meal at a reasonable price. The place is a little narrow and small, awesome staff who are friendly and serves you with a happy face! Can't wait to make another trip!
We've been coming here for years and the food is always excellent! ALWAYS. It actually gets better, if that's possible. Don't let the small size fool you, the flavor here is huge! this place is family owned and operated and it's like eating food they'd make for their families. Best Masala, Butter Chicken anywhere. Korma and the Samosas are to die for. The Naan bread is phenomenal s well as the Tandoori! Mango Lassi is life.... Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed!
I love Indian, and seriously looked forward to eating here for lunch when in the area. I hate to give a bad review, but my coconut soup was subpar. The pappadam came with some great condiments but was cold. My entree was the mango chicken lunch special which was supposed to be cubed chicken meat, yet the scarce chicken pieces were more like the Panda Buffet meat in the food court. I 'm obligated to give a negative review because the curry sauce tasted exactly like the bottle of Patak 's Curry Sauce I bought on Amazon. I was starving when I went and sincerely wish I could have enjoyed my meal there! The girl that waited on me was extremely friendly and brought lots of water refills. Parking is ok. Location is a little odd, on the side of a hotel, but near the beach. I 'm sorry but all the positive reviews must be by locals or something?

If you are Indian avoid ordering Indian level of spices , the waiter asks you what is your spice level and the Indian spice level is way too hot even for a spice loving Indian like me 5. The tandoori items are delightful ask the chef to slow roast it with a lot of lime and spices to enjoy true Indian tandoori taste
