With a range of options from traditional comforts to excellent seafood, this historic pub offers good wines, well-kept ales, and a unique dining experience in a picturesque setting. While some aspects may be hit or miss, for those seeking a classic pub experience with charm and character, The New Inn is a top choice on the island.
This was my first visit to the restaurant since it was under new management. I ordered the fish and chips, but unfortunately, the fish was severely overcooked. The wait for our food was quite long, and we were surprised by the cost of over £1.50 for just one slice of bread and butter. Despite these disappointments, the waiting staff were friendly and polite whenever we were able to get their attention.
We were a table for 2 who both had returned to have Sunday lunch having both had excellent roast lamb lunches a couple of weeks before. Unfortunately on 15th January it was average. The meat (beef and lamb) was over cooked and tough, the Yorkshire puddings flat and the vegetables over cooked. However, it was well flavoured and the service was good.
This charming country pub is located near Newtown Creek, offering a scenic stroll to build up your appetite. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
We went to this restaurant on a peaceful Monday. It is rightfully named the Dining Pub of the year, with delicious food and friendly service.
The first time here since it was taken over by the new administration. I had the fish and chips. The fish was very overcooked, the food took long to arrive and we were charged over £ 1.50 for 1 piece of bread and butter! On the plus side the waiting staff were friendly when we could catch their eye and were always very polite.
