What Seth T doesn't like about Joey Garlic's Newington:
Terribly underwhelming! Was excited to visit my first Joey Garlic’s. But it does not live up to its name. Maybe I ordered the wrong dishes, but they were all bland. Pizza dough was hard and heavy. Focaccia bread was dry. Marinara sauce was lacking herbs and spices. Mozzarella was cheap and chewy. Pasta was pasta. Fried eggplant was passable. Not worth a photo. View all feedback.
The chicken Marsala was wonderful and the house salad was unexpectedly good. Still miss the bacon slather sauce you used to serve with the sweet potato fries.Pizza and grinders are always great too.
Chicken parm absolutely disgusting undercooked sauce tasted like low grade jar sauce, at best this place is good for a grinder and a beer, never again
I am in a wheelchair with only 1 leg. I told the host party of 5. That I need a table so we can remove a chair. He said we have a booth. I advised I can not get in a booth. He said booths fit 6. Advised again I cannot get in a booth. He still insisted I take a booth. I told him I am not going to repeat myself any more. He finally said we could wait for a table. We saw a party of 6 leave and knew it was our table and it took 15 minutes to clean it and another 10 to set it before seating us. Another ten minutes the waitress run by our table saying what her name is which none of us heard what her name was. They never gave us napkins. The waitress came after another 15 minutes with water. Took our drink orders a 1st course. 15 minutes went by my soup came and it was cold, my friends salad did not have the green olives. He asked for his olives. I asked for napkins then realized my soup was cold. She brought olives mixed with capers. He asked to speak to the manager. I asked for napkins again. Still no drinks. Manager came over a while later. He said the olives are mixed with capers. My friend knows they are not because he knows the owner. Manager took soup to exchange it for hot soup. Also asked him for napkins another of the wait staff came with a big stack. All the whole the waitress was giving us attitude and mean looks. Drinks finally arrive. Put in our orders. My soup comes and it is like warm. My niece saw our waitress and called for her by saying excuse me and waving 4 times. Finally the waitress turned around real quick with a mean look on her face then changed the look to a fake smile saying she didn't hear her. Which was not true. We asked for to go containers, she threw them on the table. We asked for more drinks. Then we asked for the bill. One of our members went outside for a minute so I asked if we could get a to go cup for his drink an she said very nasty no not an alcohol drink which I didn't know. Then she was nasty about her tip. I admit because of the way we were treated
