Great service, beautiful space, and great fundamentals-meats were tender, chips were fresh and hot, etc. They go a little easy on the spices. Probably what people in the area prefer, but a little frustrating at this price point. Still worth your time, and the perfect high end Mexican place for milder palettes. If your cousin is in from the Midwest, or your grandma wants to go someplace nice: take them here; you'll blow... What Pedro A doesn't like about Don Cuco Mexican Newhall:
Stopped by on my way back home from L.A. and it seems like a very popular place for the locals. To me it wasn't authentic Mexican but it's quality food. The ambience is a little dark and quiet which seems like a good place for a date and conversation. View all feedback.

Just happened to come by this jewel in newhall.service just like Mexico. Top notch.food omg the sabor(flavor). Feels like cantina. ?
Not great. Mole for the enchiladas was sweet. Really sweet and it was odd tasting. The table salsa was from a can or tasted like it anyway. margarita was good and service was excellent. Too bad the food was sub par. With all the good Mexican food around here it's unlikely we'll be back. It isn't the worst mexican food but with the choices you have in SoCal it might as well be. I don't know how this place has such a rating other than we caught them on a bad day. Check it out for yourself but for me, the food did not cut it
Old school mexican food. I would say nothing special, but a local favorite for standard mexican food.
