Helpful friendly staff. The manager, Tomasz does a great job. Decent food evening and breakfast. House beer is Sam Smiths, hmm. Guest ale was OK. Bar lacks character or atmosphere I assume it is owned by Smiths and they don’t like spending money which shows. Accommodation was fine, clean and everything worked, but basic and tired a bit like the rest of the place. Wi Fi was close to non existent. Feels like it is kept going by good staff but needs a bit of TLC.

Wonderful pub in the heart of Newcastleton. Tomas is wonderful host and chef. Food is fantastic. I recommend popping in or calling in advance to book so Tomas can tell you about the amazing food he can prepare specially for you. We had vegetarian paella served with warm bread and salad.
