The breakfast was great. Thomas was a n excellent host. The rooms are a little tired but they are clean and warm. This is a great place to stay as there are some very good local walks. What Tim Cameron Jones doesn't like about Liddesdale:
Helpful friendly staff. The manager, Tomasz does a great job. Decent food evening and breakfast. House beer is Sam Smiths, hmm. Guest ale was OK. Bar lacks character or atmosphere I assume it is owned by Smiths and they don’t like spending money which shows. Accommodation was fine, clean and everything worked, but basic and tired a bit like the rest of the place. Wi Fi was close to non existent. Feels like it is kept... View all feedback.
Just spent five nights in Newcastleton. We visited the Liddesdale hotel each day with our dog for a few drinks. Thomas the chef advised us on the Morrocan spicy beef which was absolutely superb. Very friendly locals who made us very welcome in the bar. Service: 5 Location: 5
Three of us stayed here on a cycling holiday. Tom the manager is brilliant, a good cook and good company. Rooms are clean, a little dated, everything is reasonably priced, with a secure place for bicycles. We would stay there again. Nearby activities: Fantastic for mountain biking and on a quiet B road for road cycling. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Quiet
