I was intrigued by the diversity of option... read more Stopped by this restaurant while visiting Newcastle. The place was bustling with a mix of foreign and Indian patrons. I was intrigued by the diversity of options on the menu. We ended up ordering Tandoori Chicken, which was flavorful but not as juicy as expected. The Chicken Biryani was decent, though our hunger may have influenced our opinion. Despite not taking any pictures, I give this place 4 stars for its variety of dishes, generous portions, reasonable pricing, and friendly Punjabi staff.

One of our monthly indulgences was dining at this restaurant. Indian cuisine is my favorite, so I have high standards when it comes to it. While I have had amazing Indian food in Melbourne, I must say that Raj's in Newcastle is the best in the area. The dishes here are quite spicy and very saucy. However, I found the butter chicken and korma to be a bit bland. The Rogan josh is fantastic, but I wish there was more meat in it. Overall, the flavors are good but could use a bit more seasoning. The garlic and coriander naan is one of my favorites here.
