Wheatsheaf Farm Dining Carvery

When this place first opened it was amazing, we then continued to go back and we then noticed that it was going further and further downhill. I find that their main menu food is fine such as the burgers but the carvery is awful! I'm not really a carvery lover at the best of times and we stopped going to The Tobey because that was also going rapidly downhill. Me and the family had planned to visit our local pub across the road from us for a Sunday roast however, annoyingly they had sold out so my parents suggested this place. I knew there was a pretty high chance I wasn't going to like it and my guess was right I had the turkey and the beef, the turkey was full of gristle and the beef was tasteless. The veg was also questionable and just generally not nice, the whole plate was just tasteless mush and so I ended up pushing most of it to one side, the tastiest part was the gravy! The only positive I can say and the reason I have given 2 stars instead of just 1, is the fact that all the staff we encountered that day were happy and friendly so it's a shame that the food lets them down so badly, we won't be visiting again sadly as it was just a waste of money for me when due to the cost of living crisis, eating out at restaurants is a rare treat these days! Save your money and go elsewhere!

Usually enjoy the meals at this chain but this branch disappointed. The table had the old pub look, been wiped but could do with a clean. The menus had samples of various meals options stuck to them, again in need of a clean. Nothing like a nice coffee to end a meal and this was nothing like a nice coffee. More a cup of brown water with a slight coffee taste.

I was taken out by my cousin for a treat on Wednesday the 9th November. My cousin went to pay for food and drinks, then we went to get served. My cousin I noticed knows most of the staff in there as she’s very friendly, but I did notice the server darios didn’t acknowledge my cousin and almost looked like he was in a mood? My cousin said hello darios, he didn’t answer? She said hello another 2 times but still nothing. We noticed the manager who actually served us our food from the counter to then speak to the other staff members, I pointed this out because they all turned around and looked at us. My cousin has gone back tonight to be asked to leave as she’s been racist to Dario’s? And this has apparently happened on 4 occasions? Also accused of throwing potatoes off him? Like what the hell. My cousin is no way a racist and if this had happened on 4 occasions then why would they not pull her up then. I’m in shock and she’s devastated at such an aligation. Definitely won’t be going back.

Absolutely love this place... regularly go for Sundays carvery, and as we enjoy it so much, we booked in Christmas dinner (my first time eating for Christmas dinner). Our first booking was unfortunately canceled because of Kovid, but unfortunately we did it for 2021... Stylon and mushroom on the top of the brochetta, then off to the food bar to our plates with ham, turkey and beef with a selection of delicious roasted vegetables (and I my delicious mmm). A choice of 2 gravites, one with onion, and one without... a selection of sauces to... Too full to eat pudding, so the staff happy boxed our to take. Staff are very accommodating and looking forward to making your stay welcoming and comfortable. There are plenty of sitting positions in a very spacious room... I recommend this place to all... Can not recommend enough! The staff is really friendly, the choices on the menu are very far-reaching, much more than average and this has been on a really nice carvery, several times already and the meals were delicious the fish and chips are a standout, portions are very generous. Dessert is on another level together I never have to say about any like it, they are great is an understatement! They also have a "Kissen weg" service for them... In addition, prices are very reasonable, we had seven meals and drinks and 5 desserts all for under £100. Come on!
