We loved this restaurant, very authentic food, lovely staff and the wine portions were very generous.
My fiancé and I came here for dinner on a Friday night - we did book ahead which I'd recommend as it does fill up on weekends.

read moreOld Siam is a popular restaurant in Newcastle that recently experienced some changes which left one customer feeling disappointed. The portion sizes seemed to have shrunk, the spice level was not as intense, and the presentation was different. On the other hand, another customer visiting Newcastle for the first time discovered this excellent little restaurant with attentive staff and delicious food reminiscent of authentic Thai cuisine. The Thai Fishcakes, Masamen curry, Thai Red curry, and grilled prawns were all highly recommended. Overall, Old Siam seems to have mixed reviews from customers, with some feeling let down by recent changes and others enjoying a delightful dining experience.
