We decided to stop by the Terrace restaurant for breakfast. The food was nicely presented and flavorful; we tried the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, as well as the avocado with poached egg and bacon on sourdough. However, there were a few negatives to mention. The decor was disappointing, and my americano seemed to be watered down with hot water from an urn (which was a bit odd). Overall, it was an okay experience... View all feedback.
What CaroleH doesn't like about Terrace:
Used to love coming here, hadn't been for a while so thought we would try it yesterday, wish we hadn't bothered. Ordered decaff lattes and toasted teacakes, the drinks definitely weren't lattes and after waiting 20 mins my husband went to ask where they were to be told they had already went out obviously to some other couple although our table number was blatantly plain to see on our table. Will never go back again,... View all feedback.

Oh Fenwicks, please stop using cheap teabags for our pots of tea and go back to using the locally made ones that you used to have. The tea just doesn't taste the same anymore. We came in for our usual cuppa, cake, scone, and toasted teacake and were very disappointed. The prices have gone up while the quality has gone down. The tea was weak and watery no matter how long we waited or stirred the pot. It would be great if you could use see-through covers for the tea cakes and scones, as we had a big fly crawling all over them the other day. The staff behind the counter used to be polite and friendly, but now they seem different. What has happened? !!!
Do not bother visiting this restaurant. The prices are extremely high, portion sizes are shrinking, and they now limit the amount of sugar sachets and ketchup they provide. I found this to be embarrassing. When I asked why they are no longer allowing customers to help themselves to condiments at the table, I was told it was to reduce waste and prevent theft. This policy made me feel like a suspect. Even cheaper restaurants like Wetherspoons do not have these restrictions. Overall, the restaurant gives off a vibe of being cheap and stingy, and I will not be returning.
My wife and I visit this restaurant almost every weekend and have noticed a big decrease in portion size, even for the small breakfast. Today was actually the worst so far...practically needed microscopes to see the scrambled eggs. Good staff but terrible value for money. Not sure we will be back.
My husband and I went to the Terrace today ,we were very disappointed with the choice on the menu, but never mind my husband had the chicken curry which sounded appetising and I settled on the burger and chips ,the curry consisted of a small chicken breast with a jug of curry sauce which tasted of nothing no seasoning or flavour.my burger was a big lump of mince meat in between a large bun and a cup of chips no flavour,o I forgot a slice of gurkin! £27,50. This restaurant is rubbish definitely gone down the pan since we were last there.Never again.!!,,
