The tasting menu offered was only five courses, with the cheese course as an additional option. While some diners found the portions to be on the smaller side for a five-course meal, the overall dining experience was excellent. The service received high praise, with attentive staff and delicious food. However, there were some issues reported, such as a tooth breaking on hard bread and a dispute over payment for a dental bill. Despite these incidents, many diners enjoyed the food and wine offerings, with signature dishes like the cheese soufflé receiving rave reviews. Overall, the restaurant offered a great dining experience with room for improvement in certain areas.
We decided to have lunch at 21 after Christmas Day. A good decision, they had modified the Christmas Fayre, replacing Turkey with Duck and improving in our opinion the Cod. All agreed our different choices were at least very good with some excellent. With attentive but not intrusive service. A perfect end of a busy Christmastime treat.
Great lunch in August. My friends and I are regulars here and booked for a Xmas lunch months ago. Then out of the blue this weekend i received an email demanding a non refundable of £60 to be paid by card over the phone or in person. I was surprised that a deposit hadn't been requested when I made the booking. Also, I prefer not to give my card details over the phone and a visit to Newcastle is a inconvenient. So a bit of a poor show in this respect. Well go ahead with this booking but might go elsewhere in 2024.
Simply fantastic. The three course fixed option is tremendous value and food of the highest quality. Dessert doughnuts to die for!
Once again a very good evening at 21. It was a menu set around wagyu beef, it was fab. From the wagyu cottage pie onwards . The wine pairing was very nice as well. The only gripes I have was that the room seemed a little overcrowded the Pear desert was not to my or my daughters liking a heavy on the ginger for me .
Great food, had an amazing Sunday roast with my friends. A bit expensive but worth it! Atmosphere is nice and the service is excellent! Will definitely come back
