Central Cafe - Newcastle Emlyn

This café and fish and chip shop is well located near the cattle market and football field. They serve large, fresh fish with crispy chips that are worth the wait. However, the toilets are small and the floors seemed either greasy or not properly cleaned.

Yet again the chips were soggy tasted sweet warmed up mush I have been regular but not any more given the benefit of the dought to many times .Staff are great but the quality of food is dreadful Try cooking fresh chips around the mark and not warming up lunch times

We bought two standard cod, one large and small chips including a curry sauce. The cost was over The Fish was poorly cooked dripping with oil and the chips were soggy. When we collected our order, I was shocked to discover that our food was stacked next to the till (counter) not warmed!! Extremely disappointing and worrying considering food safety.

They advertise fish cooked to order, we ordered haddocks and when they arrived they very much seemed like frozen, breadcrumbed, supermarket fish. Not fresh, battered. Truly horrible and dry. The mushy peas were very watery and the chips, which tasted quite good, were all less than inches long. The staff were ok, but we are having a chinese next time !

Friendly staff and freshly cooked food. a way system in place and encouraged to wait outside until eating was ready (and then brought out). chips were really delicious. not cheap, but for a small town they would expect a small brand at the price. I would recommend it and come back.
