The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was great. One slight drawback was that not all the dishes arrived at the same time. The meat came out first, which meant it had started to cool by the time the last dish was served. View all feedback.
We stopped off at the Rampant Cat for dinner on our way home from a day out. We called up made a last minute booking on-route and were lucky enough to be seated out in the garden on arrival. The menu choices weren't huge but there was enough on there to please even picky eaters. My husband had the burger and fries which he said was lovely. I opted for the fish, chips and mushy peas and was so glad I did. The fish was amazing, the batter extremely light crispy and not greasy at all. We were informed by the young lady who worked there that it was made to order using Doombar beer straight from the tap. The portion sizes were also very generous and we couldn't manage a dessert. The staff were fantastic, informative and enthusiastic about the food, pub and were genuinely lovely. You can tell it is a family run place and there is a lot of pride and care that goes into making sure customers are happy. We will definitely be making a point of detouring to the Rampant Cat again.
Only for a quick bit immersed, warm welcome from barman ordered two scampi with well cooked chips (wife doesn’t like soggys) and must one of the best scampis done in a very long time, crispy, hot and chips done at perfection. 1. visit in a very long time, but will be back
