I grew up with Pete and Vinnie Orsino! I used to visit their place 3-4 times a week, and I'd often enjoy at least two hot dogs with mustard and extra sauerkraut. Since I was a family friend, I even worked there for a while as a teenager! Although the posted hours indicated that the food truck was "open," I found it closed when I arrived at 4 PM!
The best hot dogs in town, but be aware of their unpredictable hours. We always make it a point to stop by when they're open. If they’re there, you can count on them being open; if not, then it’s closed.
Great food and friendly service! I deducted a star because their hours and days of operation can be quite unpredictable. It would be helpful if they could create a simple website that says "Yes, We're Open Today" or "Sorry, See You Soon."
I have been enjoying meals at Pete's for nearly 71 years, and my family has been going there even longer—my parents and grandparents included. Recently, I took a friend all the way from Long Island for a relaxed drive upstate, and of course, we stopped for lunch at Pete's. I ordered my usual two hot dogs with mustard and sauerkraut, along with a chocolate milk. It felt just like being a kid again!
I walked over to the restaurant, only to find that they were closed before 5 PM. Their business hours seem to be incorrect, which was a bit disappointing.
