Description

Dubh, meaning "Black" in Irish, is located on the corner of one of Newbridge's oldest streets, overlooking the old market square. The building has a rich history as a pub, venue, grocery store, and more. In 2021, Ubh, a small cafe that was once across the road, moved in, creating a trilogy of services - from casual lunches to seasonal dinners with organic wine, and a creative space for drinks and music events. Our kitchen team prepares seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients, while our wine selection is all natural and carefully curated by Emma and Niamh. We offer a wide variety of beers, liquors, and creamy pints at our bar. Nominated for best casual dining in Kildare by Food & Wine Magazine Ireland. Our lovely cafe is still open Wednesday-Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm. Table bookings with 6 people or more will be subject to a 12.5% service charge. Thank you.

I will definitely return! The food was decent, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The prices were reasonable, and I plan to come back soon with my partner.

We had a fabulous meal from start to finish! The high-quality ingredients were beautifully crafted by the kitchen. Our server, Niamh, was exceptional! The wine list was thoughtfully curated, featuring some fantastic selections, and we enjoyed a delightful cocktail at the bar to wrap up our evening. This place comes highly recommended, and we will definitely be returning!

Thank you, culinary deities! This is exactly what Newbridge needed! The staff is wonderful and genuinely enthusiastic about their offerings, and the food is outstanding—mostly health-conscious, too!
