What Gayle Musselmam doesn't like about Bill Fran's:
Food was fair to good. However, I asked for butter for my biscuits (only thing on the table was imitation oil based butter like spread. and was told we don 't have any. Really? A diner that has NO actual butter on the premises?? It was seat yourself and we took a booth for 2 so that large booths and tables stayed available for bigger parties. However, the table top was dirty and sticky. I asked to have it cleaned and... View all feedback.
This is a charming local diner that feels quintessentially Southern, with a cozy atmosphere. While some of the food was disappointing—my waffle was quite dry and the biscuits were burnt—we didn’t have high expectations since we were just stopping for a quick bite. However, I must say that the omelets were among the best I've ever had! The service was friendly and satisfactory. If you're looking for a place to grab breakfast or lunch while traveling, I would definitely recommend stopping by!
I've visited this restaurant twice, and both times were fantastic. There are so many delicious options on the menu. While the exterior and interior are quite unassuming, the diner vibe is charming. I especially appreciate that they serve breakfast all day—sometimes you just crave biscuits and gravy! My friends ordered the meat and two vegetable lunch special, which comes with dessert, and everyone was satisfied with the homestyle cooking. The servers were friendly and attentive, consistently refilling our glasses without needing to be asked.
The menu is quite extensive. I ordered a small breakfast at around 11:30, and the biscuits were fantastic. However, the lunch specials looked absolutely irresistible. They offered a variety of hearty dishes, like liver, fried chicken, and turkey dinner—just the kind of comfort food my family would have loved. If I had more room on my motorcycle, I would have ordered one of each lunch special! I definitely need to return with a bigger appetite and my truck.
Let me start by saying I was excited to eat here. That excitement ended very soon after entering the building. I was not greeted, seated myself, and waiting over 20 minutes before someone aknowledged me. Only 3 tables in the restaurant includingmyself and the 2 men that came in right behind me. They were greeted and served immediately I am assuming they were local. Aftermy order was finally taken I waiting another 15 minutes for a burger and onion rings. Definitely NOT worth the wait. Burger wasdry onion rings were greasy. I am very disappointed and cannot recommend this place I am sad to say
Best in the area. Staff is great and food is good southern cooking. Right off of I-26 exit 72. Great stop on a bike ride or on a road trip. They have been there since the 70s. Enough said.
