This place is very friendly! Beer selection is large and there is something for everyone. The bartenders are great, especially Jose! He went beyond and beyond for our group and it was not unnoticed. I highly recommend this place! View all feedback.
What had happened was...my flight got canceled and rerouted through Newark so here I am and this place is walking distance from my hotel. The food is outstanding (not a huge fan of the cole slaw but everything else was fantastic). Good food, good beer, and the service was excellent. It didn't have to be, given the number of people in the place, but it was, so hats off to the bartenders. If you're in the area and have a hankering for respectable german fare and good beer? This is where you want to go.
Redd's is nice because it's close to downtown venues. They have a limited food selection and a much broader beer selection. The food is not bad.
Excellent food and service. Jose was so welcoming and helpful. Wanted schnitzels so we decided to try this biergarten. Bier Bacon was so good. The slaw was delicious and enhanced the bacon... I don't usually like slaw but I would definitely love to have more of their slaw. ? Jaeger Schnitzel was perfect, it was crispy even after the mushroom demi glaze was spread on top. Spaetzle was really good, most times it's just a mushy mass but these were individual pieces ? Dee?s Kassler Ripchen Smoked Pork Chop with potato Pancake and red cabbage. The pork chop was really good. The red cabbage was delicious loved it! Hubby loved the potato pancakes but I thought they were more like Hash brown then the usual potato pancake... Will have to go back to try other items! I'm just sad the one closer to us near the Meadowlands does not have a German menu...
Was in town on business and there weren't a lot of choices downtown. Hotel recommended this spot and it didn't disappoint. No frills to be sure, but the staff was great and the food was too. Got pretty crowded after the hockey game let out, but the bartenders kept up.
The expectations were high as a friend Redd's beer garden had recommended as a place for Oktoberfest, but ended with a pretty bad experience in Redd's beer garden. Not to know how busy a Saturday night/night I would be before to make reservations for a table of 10. I actually called twice, first for 8:00 and then at 9:00. When my friends and I arrived, the staff told us that there were no reservations and that the kitchen was closed at 9 a.m. I had mentioned that we were going to dinner. If I had known that the kitchen was closed at 9:00, I would have made other plans. When I checked with the staff regarding the reservations, they started calling another place, but I showed them that I actually called the right place twice and they confirmed that I had the right number. Seems they totally ignored the reservation. When we arrived, the place was completely empty and there was no problem finding a table. While we wait to decide how/where we get a place to eat, no employees came to the table or even wondered if we wanted to drink something. Fully terrible experience, definitely not recommended.
