Despite slow service issues, the food was well-prepared, with excellent seafood options. The wine list was varied and reasonably priced, and the staff was accommodating. While some dishes were disappointing, notably the overly salty salmon and fishy swordfish, the lunch menu was diverse and the service friendly. The restaurant's Portuguese-influenced cuisine was praised, with a convenient location near the NJ Performing Arts Center. Overall, Maize provides a pleasant dining experience with room for improvement in service and menu options.
The service at this restaurant is excellent, the food is fabulous, and the decor is stunning! I give it 5 stars. It's the perfect place to dine before a show and I highly recommend it.
Service was slow and somewhat inattentive. We have been there several times but this time the salmon was too salty and the swordfish was very fishy. Salad was boring and Chocolate cake was very dry
Three course prix fixe menu prior to Speaker Series at PAC. Nice variety of items on the menu, all well prepared. However, considering the limited menu, the service is very slow.
Very courteous and friendly service from beginning to end. Food was outstanding! I had stuffed salmon served with mashed potatoes and a variety of mixed vegetables. My date had lamb with polenta and broccoli. We shared strawberry cheesecake for dessert. Presentation was nicely done. Everything was delicious. Servings were generous and prices were reasonable. Atmosphere was very nice and music played was contemporary smooth jazz which happens to be my favorite. Would definitely recommend and return to dine at Maize again.
We made reservations at 6 ordered at 6:40 and didn’t get our entrees until 7:40. We had tickets for 8:00 and had to not fully finish our meals and miss desert and coffee. Manager said his staff was thrown off by so many people going to the theatre. Across the street from the PAC?
