The King Charles At Saracens Head

I had dinner here as part of a large group, so we had ordered all our menu choices well in advance. The food was superb, though the portion sizes were rather small (the sort of experience when you look at the plate of food and think 'is that all? ' , and the white gloved waiters did a good job serving despite the difficulties of dealing with a table of some 20 people. But when it came to settling the bill we found that they had got the record of how many people had had 2 course or 3 course meals completely wrong. It should have been easy they knew beforehand who had ordered which meals, the prices were set and just depended on how many courses you had. We paid for any drinks in cash when ordered. I wasn 't involved in the negotiations about the bill, but they went on for ages, with the management appearing to be very uncooperative. They lost a good deal of goodwill (and tips over this, which was a shame because the waiting staff had been pretty good.I have mixed feelings about recommending this place.

We went to visit Southwell Cathedral. Then, totally by chance, we went to Saracens Head and ordered a light lunch. This turned out to be a very good choice.I had veal to the Bourguignon, mashed potatoes and vegetables. The girls had Quiche and chips. The food was well hot served by a nice staff in an elegant setting. We felt that we were valued to the client, well done. We recommend this year 1.913 to everyone.

We recently stayed at the Saracens Head Hotel, and ate at his restaurant. The food is well prepared, always hot and delicious. Always eating here when we stay as the quality of the food served is always excellent, so why eat elsewhere? Without a doubt a success and something we always hope

The restaurant has a great old world charm,the food was a very high standard,especially at the price charged, the staff were very attentive and helpful. We will visit again if in the area

The staff made us feel incredibly welcome and were very attentive to our needs. The table settings and atmosphere were just right for our group. It was the perfect place for friends and family to gather and reconnect. Thank you.
