River Road Coffeehouse On The Square

If you want a place to unwind, this is it. They have the best chocolate muffins. Plenty of seating. We do miss the wine bar that was inside the shop--it was a great place to try new wines and add to our wine collection.

I’ve come here for years and I always get a frozen 1950’s. This time I forgot to specify I wanted frozen vs iced and the barista didn’t ask me which I wanted either so she just put what she wanted on the order. Then it came out iced and I asked for it to be frozen instead and she told me I’d have to pay for a whole new drink. Completely unfair she didn’t even try to specify herself on the order either and I’m not paying for a second drink. Ridiculous service.

Based on what i had. The Coffee was delicious. Food was pretty good. Nice atmosphere. Very friendly staff.

Our absolute favorite local coffee shop! We love the staff at the downtown/on the square location. We will drive in the opposite direction of where we’re going just to go to that one specifically. We go there so much, they know us and are like family now! My daughter stopped there today to get us coffees and the lovely Keirie sent this awesome note home to me! And if you’re ever there when Maggie is working, she’s the sweetest soul!

Iced coffee was really good but the food wasn’t so much. They warmed up the ham and cheese croissants in a microwave which made it chewy, and the chicken ranch wrap was probably in the freezer.On the other hand the sugar cookie was delicious.If you’re craving a coffee, don’t think twice, the coffee is good and the staff is very professional; but if you’re hungry, maybe get something somewhere else.
