What Sherman Effinger III doesn't like about Sī Fáng Cài Private Kitchen:
We went with a friend back in 2021. This friend of mine has travelled to China, is able to converse a little. He tried to mingle with a table (this table looked like organized crime syndicate status passing a BYOB of Remy Martin 1738) no one said a word to him. Shunned, he moved on. Our appetizer had bones in it. We felt forgotten, lost in our own section of the restaurant. Toilet was filthy, stinky like sewage. Not... View all feedback.
Very friendly staff and very delicious food. Family style portions. My favorite was the Walnut Shrimp.
Save yourself some respect by not going to this place. They deserve negative star. Horrible horrible service. Restroom smells like smoke, must be the cooks. Yucky yucky yucky!

Private Kitchen is a small restaurant located in the building attached to Cao Nguyên Supermarket. Food is great here. The portion size is large. Private kitchen is meant for more of a family style dining, best suited for parties of 3 or more. Because of this style, it's really targeting more toward the Asian audience. If family dining style and sharing is not for you, then you may find it less appealing. Like previously mentioned, the food is actually quite good. The same thing cannot be said about the service however. The main problem is probably the language barrier. If you know Chinese you're set. If you don't, you may not get some answers to the questions you ask. We wanted hot tea and was told no hot water. We got really confused. Another problem is how the cost on some of the items on the menu are different. We pointed to the menu to order fried prawns which is around $20 but when we got the bill, we were charged $35 (really pricey for the smallest of shrimps). The good news was we told them we ordered what was on the menu and the menu says $20 so they reduced the price reflecting what was on the menu. So either they got our order wrong and gave us something different; guess we will never know.
Food was okay but the Ketamine was next level! Service was slow as they had half the staff counting cash at a table in the back corner for some reason. Business must be good there. Also it smelled like a dispensary. Weird but I'm ok with it.
