Came here for dinner after walking the Tongariro alpine crossing and had a really nice time! Great food and generous portions and the bar has a really nice theme/vibe with music playing on screens, fireplace and good atmosphere in general. Thanks : Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We came at 5pm and ordered ribs. At that time the restaurant was nearly empty (2-3 tables filled). At 5:45pm we asked the service how long our ribs may take as we had not received them at this point in time. We were told from the service „approx 15min“. After 1.5hrs of waiting, we saw on the neighboring table a lady receiving ribs. Then we confronted the service with the situation, asking for refund, which we received. The situation may have been unfortunate and orders can get lost on the way to the kitchen (although at that time there were no other guests ordering, but still). We do understand this. But if something like this happens in a restaurant in our country (Austria), then the service/manager/owner would try to calm the customer and not allow him leave hungry. So for example, offer a round of drinks on house and meanwhile prep the food. That would have left us in a better mood. Instead, we received a refund and were still hungry at the end.

Nice and cozy typical pub where they have a simple menu for a good price. The food is excellent for what you pay and is very filling. Parking: Parking is available on site.
