I've been living in NYC for my entire time in the USA, but I tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday. I usually don't use Doordash, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food was fresh and well-packaged when it arrived. I ordered the hot pastrami sandwich, while my partner got the queen sandwich with fries, both of which were delicious. I'm looking forward to trying a cold sandwich next time to explore more of their menu.
I was pleasantly surprised by the abundance of vegan options at this restaurant. It's a gem, with dedicated grills and fryers for all their vegan dishes.
Fantastic vegan deli choices! This review was updated on March 7, 2022.
This is not a restaurant, but a small deli, without sitting or tables (although the weather is beautiful, on 92nd street, born 2nd and 3rd aves., there is a charming small park – see photo.) the deli serves typical meaty deli sandwiches, chips and the like. it also has a wide range of juice smoothie offerings, and also a separate, extensive list of vegan deli offerings: these include dinge like vegan grilled cheese, vegan burger, vegan “pastrami” and the like. the vegan meats are pre-packed art flesh of companies like beyond meat, gardein, morningside farms and the like. most importantly, they use a separate grill for their vegan meat, thus avoiding cross-contamination. on the other side their fries are fried in the same oils as their meat, so although the fries are listed on the vegan menu, they could want to skip them. they may also need to remind them that they carefully wipe their carving knives before they cut their sandwich if they only used it to cut a meat sandwich. I had a vegan chopped cheese – a stack-deli dish that I never tried, so I thought I would now try a vegan version that I had the chance. it was quite delicious, but of course, not all that health-oriented. I calculate them with an additional star for effort and for its location in an otherwise vegan-starved quarter.
The name of the place is vegan deli, but they serve plenty of meat. But they do have a good size vegan menu and so i enjoyed my experience. I got the beyond meat hash and veggie platter which was good and the mango sunrise smoothie which was great.
