Finding somewhere to eat in Midtown was a challenge. We were staying at the Tryp so tried Gastro. The burger was very good. We also got their Ravioli, Chicken Wrap, Chips w/Guacamole, and Margarita. My wife enjoyed the drink quite a bit. The service was adequate. View all feedback.
What Beau H doesn't like about The Gastro At 35:
No. Just no. I guess you have to actually make your own food if you decide to go in after 6pm. It literally took 25 minutes to get a beer. And I was the only one there. It's attached to a hotel, and even hotel guests won't eat there. The short version is, I had to ask the only other human in sight who happened to be the front desk person if they were closed or what. I did finally get a beer after I assume she called... View all feedback.
We chose this restaurant because it was Gluten Free friendly for hubby. He had Salmon and potatoes which he'd had the night before. He said that it was good, but he's had better. I had the French onion soup and calamari. I would prefer a white sauce with the calmari but maybe that's a regional thing. We were grateful for the attention to the GF and the staff was very nice. We'd go back.
Our family was staying at the TRYP hotel and ordered room service for lunch through the App, after waiting an hour I went to the front desk and was informed the restaurant didn’t open until 3:30. The next day we ordered dinner through the App at7:00 and once again after waiting an hour I went to the front desk and was then sent to the bar. The bar tender informed me they didn’t offer room service as the posters in the elevator and our room stated. I ordered food through the bartender which she brought up 25 minutes later. Not sure how this happened but the two orders of chicken tenders were the worst chicken I’ve ever eaten, needless to say my children didn’t eat them. Mozzarella sticks were good. It’s a deep fryer, how does chicken turn into leather? To top it all off I was charged for the times I ordered through the App and didn’t receive any food, and don’t worry, the 18% gratuity was added. I’m now in the process of trying to get my money credited back to my card.
No price list. They charged $28 for a 1 1/2 oz drink. Even the Met and Bryant Park only chare $18. I know it is NYC but this is nuts.
We decided to order from here via online as we were staying at the Tryp hotel. There was no sign where to pick up food. I asked the bartender and he didn’t know. It took him an extra 20-30 mins to find my food. He didn’t even tell me how long Id have to wait. I already had waited 25 mins in our room as that’s the apps recommended time for pickup. I would definitely NOT recommend this place for food. We ordered Garlic Shrimp, Fettucine Alfredo, and Chicken Noodle Soup. The Garlic Shrimp did not taste like it had any garlic. It actually tasted sour, possibly rotten. The Fettucine Alfredo also tasted off like the chicken was undercooked. And the chicken noodle soup didn’t have any noodles. It also came with bread which I didn’t realize but they burned those slices too. I would never eat here again. Waste of my money which they added a 18% gratuity to.
