their mini cakes are the best! always soft, fresh, and spongy and their butter buns are also so good and addictive. be careful of the milk tea tho, have had an upset stomach multiple times after, the dairy isn't always stored in the fridge View all feedback.

Use to love the tai pan bakery. Would come every time I went back to nyc. It’s always packed they aren’t very organized so make sure u don’t loose ur place. My favorite were the lemon rolls. They don’t put enough lemon anymore they are huge w/ no lemon filling. I also loved the hot dog bun rolls, but they also didn’t taste like they use to. The process of ordering food here can be quite chaotic, as it lacks organization and there is limited seating available. However, the dessert selection is extensive, and all the ones we sampled were delicious. We were fortunate to enjoy some fresh egg tarts, which were delightful. Overall, the prices are quite reasonable.
It looks just as it did when I was a child, bringing back fond memories from my youth.
Tai Pan is more than just a bakery; it's a cherished part of the community that has been beloved by generations. I don't visit solely for the fresh bread straight from the oven. There's an enduring quality about Tai Pan that goes beyond its delicious offerings, and I appreciate that it remains a staple in Chinatown, untouched by change.
Great traditional Chinese bakery! Got a bunch of Pork Buns, egg custards, and Portugese pastel de nata. All were delicious! Cash only!
The coconut bun omgggg..also tried the small hello kitty cakes, custard bun, and black sesame bun. The buns are so soft, fresh (still slightly warm! , and yummy! 2nd visit here on my NYC travels, will return if in the area again.
