Sinigual - New York City

I was pretty disappointed with the overall service. Went there with my friend and 4 family members on a Thursday evening. First of all long wait for server to come take our drinks order. My sister ordered a white sangria and I ordered a watermelon margarita. Both drinks were absolutely watered down. I in-fact asked the server if the bar tender forgot to put alcohol. Description said muddled watermelon in the margarita but there wasn't a single shred of watermelon in it. Ordered a chicken/veg fajita as one of the main dish. We did not get any tortillas to go with it and we ended up eating without tortillas since couldn't get hold of any server. Despite the bad experience, still ordered chocolate flan and fried ice cream for dessert and both were pretty average. Flan tasted more like chocolate mousse. Overall ended up with 300$ tab with average food and bad service.

The atmosphere was great and the service was good. They make the guacamole at your table and it was pretty good. However the Carne Asada was too chewy and the flavor was okay. The vegetables that came with it tasted bad. The street corn was alright. The steak fajita was mediocre.

This place was such a nice surprise. We came here for brunch, and they were more than happy to accommodate our group of 10. The portions are extremely generous, and the prices are amazing. All the staff was friendly, and very professional. It was a pleasure and we are definitely coming back.

Overall, the service was superb. However, some of the food didn't 100% fit the aesthetic. Some items were great, i.e., the creamy chicken enchiladas, but others were not so great like the small street corn (this was underwhelming). I would suggest this place, but be aware of what you order. Some things may lack authenticity.

My wife and I have been to Sinigual more than a dozen times since 2017. We’ve taken friends and family as well; and I can only say that we really love this place. Edher has been amazing every time and we cannot thank him enough for his excellent customer service. He goes above and beyond. We love the food, cocktails, and the environment. Their sample platter is a must!
