usually wouldn’t ever pay $11 for a slice of cake but this is the exception. it is a bit on a sweeter side and gives me a slight stomachache sometimes but i think it is worth it LOL. (the cheetos cake doesn’t really taste strongly of cheese and i could barely taste the different between that and the regular one, but it was still good because the cakes are all pretty amazing) View all feedback.
What Jing Huang doesn't like about Milk Nyc Flagship:
I'm honestly very disappointed in Milk bar. I've been wanting to go since I saw the Chef's table episode on Christina Tosi. We tried their cake truffles (red velvet and birthday), milk bar pie and cookie, they're all cloying sweet that I can only take two bytes and then I'm done. I ended up throwing away half of what I bought. The corn flake soft serve is ok, but the icecream itself does not have too much corn flavor... View all feedback.
I ordered the three-cookie deal along with some ice cream. The cookies were prepackaged and stale, lacking any real flavor, which was quite disappointing. The ice cream was decent but still didn't have much flavor to it. Overall, I was not impressed at all.
Kind of insane that 2/3 items were just prepackaged items. Not freshly made. Tasty, but I was expecting fresh. I can buy these at Whole Foods
It seems that some people have formed incorrect expectations about Milk Bar after watching Chef's Table on Netflix. Is Milk Bar an exclusive gourmet patisserie where you need to place orders a year in advance? Not at all. It's a place that serves incredibly delicious sweets and cakes accessible to everyone. I was truly impressed by everything I tried. Was it sweet? Absolutely. And I savored every moment of it.

I'm honestly quite disappointed with Milk Bar. I've been eager to visit ever since I watched the Chef's Table episode featuring Christina Tosi. We tried their cake truffles (red velvet and birthday), the Milk Bar pie, and a cookie. Everything was just overly sweet to the point that I could only manage a couple of bites before calling it quits. I ended up throwing away half of what I purchased. The cornflake soft serve was decent, but the ice cream didn't have a strong corn flavor to it.
