I had a great experience at the restaurant. The vegan options were clearly labeled and there were plenty to choose from, including the tasty baklava. I really loved my pita too. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mamoun's Falafel Upper West Side:
In the late 70s, 80s, and 90s, I enjoyed countless falafel sandwiches from Mamoun's in both the West and East Village locations. Back then, the only option was falafel in a pita, with no other choices to make. We would place our orders and pay, reminiscing about the good times. Now, on the Upper West Side, ordering is done at a kiosk and the crowd is filled with people pushing strollers and wearing Lululemon. The cha... View all feedback.
I recently visited a popular restaurant with multiple locations and had an extremely disappointing experience with their halal food. The rice was dry and hard, almost like eating grains of sand. It was so poorly cooked that it was inedible, and I couldn't believe they would serve it in that condition. The lamb was also dry and lacked flavor. I paid almost $15 for a lamb and rice platter, but ended up throwing away my portion after only a few bites because the rice was so awful. I will be sticking to halal carts from now on.
The food at this restaurant is delicious, but I consistently encounter problems when ordering delivery from this location. I had heard great things about Mamoun's and decided to give it a try. I have ordered falafel sides from this location at least 3 times now, and every time I ordered delivery, I did not receive the side of tahini sauce. Thankfully, I also ordered a side of hummus, so I was able to use that as a dipping sauce. However, I even took the extra step to mention the missing sauce in my orders, but it still was not included.
The location on the Upper West Side is dirty, especially the outdoor seating area. The way the outdoor structure is built allows food to fall underneath the floor, attracting flies, bugs, and pigeons. Despite being a fan of the food, the cleanliness of the restaurant is making it difficult to return as a customer. Even inside the store, there are flies and bugs present. I urge the restaurant to improve the cleanliness of both the indoor and outdoor areas. Thank you.
Not recommended! I ordered lamb gyro platter with rice and ordered side salad. No issues with salad. However, I got the dried up dregs of the lamb. It was dried up, in pieces not the slices that come off the rotating spit) I called the restaurant- They told me I had to ORDER AGAIN from Uber Eats and then he would leave a message for owner to call me back to give me a credit. I asked how come, he couldn?t just send a new fresh plate of lamb- he said he could not do it and
Famous middle eastern fast food place. They serve shawarma platters, falafel , salads and pastries. I ordered lamb platter and mabrumeh. Side salad was fresh. The lamb didn't taste that good though. Will probably try their falafel next time for which they are famous.
