We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Le Pain! We have been to many other restaurants in the city that had incredibly slow service, but this place had quick and friendly service! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Le Pain Quotidien 5th Ave:
Cute place but the food is not the best for the price. Also the -very- small waffles were very tasty but obviously not freshly prepared as you could buy the same at the till in plastic packaging. Felt like fast food in that sense. View all feedback.
Excellent service, with the waiter checking in frequently. A good location with big windows that face a busy street, provides a nice backdrop for a casual meal or for getting some work done on the laptop. Pastries are good here too and they offer a wide selection.
My fellow white people this is an amazing spot. for my poc's please stay clear; their drinks are alright but everything else is sick. the bread is god awful and their meats are extremely undercooked and unseasoned
Till now I have never rated a restaurant with one star. Compared to other reviewers I usually rate restaurants a bit higher. Today my wife walked into Le Pain Quotidien on 10 5th Av to ask if we could sit inside. Getting a positive answer we ordered our food. My wife waited near the counter for our orders. After about 15 minutes a staff member crudely asked her what she was doing there. Apparently she was supposed to wait at the long table my daughter and me were seated at. After another 15 minutes the staff member I mentioned told everyone the restaurant was closing. Which was kind of strange since we still had to get our food and had specifically asked them if we could eat it inside. After inquiring at the cash register what happened to our food, we were told it had been standing there for some time. The two Mediterranean Ceasar Salads and a Warm Grain Bowl were served in plastic containers as take outs. We decided to head over to Washington Sq Park to eat. Unfortunately we were still out of luck. The food looked like it was cobbled together in a hurry with some leftovers. The bell pepper was not in the salads, while the Brussels sprouts, artisanal bread and massaged kale were missing in the Bowl. There was a lot of raw kale with the tough, fibrous and bitter midrib still attached in it. A decidedly unpleasant experience.
Not sure why this place is listed as being closed. I stopped by on July 17th, 2022 and they were alive and kickin'. There also seem to be a lot of 1-star reviews. During the brief time I was there, I saw the staff being very friendly to customers and they were great to me as well. I bought a baguette. It was good. Softer than an authentic French baguette. Fine with me. I was tempted to try the French Cream Donut. Maybe next time.
To start with our server was lovely. The staff behind the counter was rude. We tried to order 4 different items and each time the waitess came back as they were out. Way better options out there
