I had the intestine and tripe soup, and it was quite delicious. I would definitely recommend it. As for the service, it was just average—not very attentive. However, I understand that the restaurant was quite busy during my visit. View all feedback.
What Yixing Wang doesn't like about Gopchang Story Bbq:
Very frustrating experience as our last meal in New York before departure. We left more than 10 percent tip, but the waitress wouldn’t let us leave until we increased to 18 percent in front of other customers and claimed that it is the law in New York which is not true. I understand tipping certain amount is custom, but it also depends on people’s financial situation. Such a disappointing ending of a trip. View all feedback.
The marinated assorted Gui is excellent if you like grilled beef intestines.
They have good authentic Korean food, and great service
IMO It is really hard to find authenti good 곱창 place in the states. We heard this place is very authentic and nice so visited. 1. 곱창 대창 구이 (gui) It was amazing. I felt it is even better than some restos in Korea. Price is also very reasonable. I would highly recommend. 2. 곱창전골 (soup) Maybe my expectation was little bit high on this. It was mediocre. I cannot say it is the best. But still it is hard to even find a restaurant where sells 곱창전골, I appreciate it a lot. Service atmosphere was also great. To anyone loves 곱창, I highly recommend.
This is undoubtedly the best Korean BBQ in K-Town! Every time I visit, the food and service are outstanding. Even if you're not a fan of intestines, they offer traditional options like pork belly and beef short ribs. We ordered the classic and marinated assorted intestines, along with spicy grilled chicken on the side, and everything was fantastic!
Gopchang Story has been one of my favorite restaurants in Ktown for years, and I've brought numerous friends here on various occasions. However, my experience today was marred by the service from one particularly rude waitress. While the rest of the staff was friendly and helpful, this waitress had a cold and passive-aggressive demeanor. After I arrived and used the restroom, she stopped me on my way back and insisted on seeing my ID. She offered no explanation and approached me with an attitude that felt quite confrontational, almost like a police officer. I had just entered the restaurant minutes prior, hadn't even had my first bite, and suddenly found myself treated like a criminal. Her behavior completely caught me off guard. It turns out that someone at my table had ordered a beer, and she needed to see the ID of everyone in our party, despite that person explaining the beer was just for him. I understand that checking IDs is part of her job, but the way she handled it was entirely unprofessional. She interrupted my return to the table without any context, simply stopping me to demand my ID. This negative interaction soured my evening and damaged my overall impression of Gopchang. The food was still delicious, as evidenced by the pictures, but I felt compelled to leave an average review for a restaurant I once loved, thanks to the rude and unwarranted behavior from one staff member. It will be a while before I consider returning. I am truly disappointed. **For the manager:** I dined at Gopchang on Sunday evening, February 25, from 9:50 PM to 10:40 PM.
