The atmosphere of the space, the awesome friendly staff, and the ever so wonderful set of djs really make this an awesome spot to just go vibe, chill, and have a good time alone or with friends. It's a space with a lot of versatility in its use for anyone looking to throw a party or event, has a great dance floor, and the vibes are just amazing. It's definitely a spot to hang out with friends and have a good time or... View all feedback.
What Light worx doesn't like about Common Ground:
Food was very good. Service was not very friendly. No one came and asked if we want anything else or refills. We asked twice for an information and two servicemembers said they have to ask and never came back.We decided than to leave and have some cocktails at another place. Stopped by with some friends for quick drinks and some lunch. Some of the worst food I’ve had in NYC and expensive
Came here for late night drinks come before 9 to have an easier time getting in but it gets very busy very fast. It’s a sports bar before 10 and then a dancefloor with DJ. Crowd seems collegiate the random bropacks.
Came for a Gotham Burger popup night. Burgers were excellent and so were drinks. The atmosphere is cool with indoor and outdoor areas with large dance area. However service was terrible with busboys taking still full drinks and pushy waitresses. Get times are tough but seems staff is trained to milk every dollar which is not a very welcoming environment.
I 've never been treated worse on a night out in NYC. I am a local and have gone out in the meatpacking area many times. I went to Common Ground last week with a group of friends, majority girls. We waited in line when the guy group in front of us started harassing us, making fun and laughing at us. They said we should go back to whatever outer borough we came from. The bouncer gave them a fist bump and let them in. When we got to the front, the bouncer looked the girls up and down multiple times, making faces at us. He then told the group the bar was full and he couldn 't let us, then waved the next group behind us in, right in front of us. I was disgusted with not only the staff but the people. Absolutely horrible experience, never going back. You 're better off paying the cover at Brass Monkey.
