What User doesn't like about Yama Ramen:
If you are in a hurry, you're golden. Good pre-theatre place. I thought the service was super attentive and certainly very quick. No sushi for me, I had shrimp shumai, the Tonkotsu ramen and the green tea ice cream and a few ice cold sapporos. I am no expert on Ramen, but as compared to other places I have been to, the broth was not spicy (as requested) and the hard boiled egg dropped in the soup was cold and I did n... View all feedback.
If you are a Ramen lover, that’s the place. It’s been around for a while and the menu options doesn’t change much but their classics are great. They have other options but for me the Ramen is the go to. The sizes of the bowl are fair and the taste is incredible. They have a good price by the way. Place is not big though, if you’re going on the weekends I suggest you make a reservation, specially if you plan to go in groups of 3 or more.
By far one of the best meals I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time. The flavors were incredible, especially the braised beef. I had never had kimchi before and it was a great introduction. Excellent wait staff and timing for food. All around a great experience. Pictured is the Yama beef don.
One out of many good ramen restaurants in the city. As you walk up the stairs and head into the restaurant it feels as something you'd experience in Tokyo. It was clean, friendly staff and nice art pieces around the restaurant. The food was great and a good refresher to get you back out there and exploring the city.
The food tasted great! Good portion for the size (for the ramen) and the buns are delicious. I had a reservation but when I arrived there was plenty of seating, although not for long because it started to fill up. Staff are nice and service was good. I can't wait to go back! The seats don't have a back support so just mentioning that in case that's important to someone for accessibility reasons. Also it's on the second floor, quite a bit of stairs to take. Other than that it was a good experience.
This is as close to an authentic Japanese place as possible that I've been to. Authentic Japanese decor with stools that let you store your bag, authentic Japanese decorations and windows that make it look like your own n a more traditional Japanese place. The staff is friendly, caring but above all the food not only looks good but tastes good! I'm definitely coming back here. If you're ever in the NYC area and want some Japanese food give this place a try and don't let the stairs to the second floor discourage you.
