Despite some service issues, the attentive staff and good food make for an enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant's location in the hotel lobby adds to the elegant old New York feel, with large mirrors, oak paneling, and pockets of privacy creating a unique atmosphere. While prices may be high, the food is tasty, and the service is top-notch. Overall, the Algonquin Hotel's Round Table restaurant is a charming spot for those seeking a taste of history in a cozy setting.
Love the history, the ambiance and the delicious food
The food isn’t bad and the service is fine but the price is ridiculous. It goes way beyond regularly high hotel prices for food. There is nothing particularly special about the cuisine and even the presentation is lacking. I paid for hummus with pita. for a cup of stale coffee. See my picture of the continental breakfast that consisted of a mini muffin, croissant, pastry and little container of fruit. For the same price you can go to an upscale restaurant in NYC and get better food and nicer presentation
The wait staff was so nice and our dinners were all delicious
Always well prepared food with seasonal additions. Setting nostalgic. Jose, the host, always friendly and engaging
Historic literary surroundings strive to compensate for this overpriced menu
