I ordered the lox on a roasted onion bagel with scallion cream cheese, capers, and tomato. It was tasty, but the price was almost $20, which seemed a bit expensive. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Tal Bagels:
The bagels at this restaurant are mediocre at best. Most of the employees have bad attitudes. The mayonnaise-based salads always seem to have too much dressing on top, almost as if they were shot by it. Overall, I would recommend skipping this place unless you're craving a decent bagel. Pretty solid bagels but not super fresh. good, but it is not worth going out of that.
The bagels often arrive flatted or squashed. Maybe it’s time for sharper knives
This is a different kind of bagel than the New York standard. Different tastes for different people, I'm sure plenty of people like these bagels.First of all the dough is a bit lighter, closer to regular white bread, but still on the bagel side of that spectrum. The bagel is large in diameter, with a very large hole in the middle, resulting in far less actual dough. The crust is very pleasantly crispy and chewy, combined with the lighter bready portion, makes for a nice savory texture. Unfortunately it's all topped off with less than generous toppings, which seems to be all too common these days (I've heard of the cream cheese shortage, but not the poppy seed or sesame seed shortage). The usual wide variety of cream cheeses, spreads, and the locks are up to the New York standard.Ultimately not my favorite place, but above acceptable for your bagel needs.
Bagels are delicious but it come at the cost of good customer service. I was actually yelled at for bringing my service dog in with me (although another gentleman had his dog and no one yelled at him). Order quick or they will yell at you. Move along the line in a prompt manner or you will be scolded. Definitely a caustic place workers could use a little customer service training.
This is your typical NYC bagel store. People sitting on the tables outside just watching the world go past, the inside looks a little tacky and of course a huge selection of bagels and fillings. We opted for the everything bagel which was covered in seeds of every sort and then stuffed to the brim with cream cheese. I wish I had the space to try a few more!
