Loved the ambience and the service. The food was good but not great. We got the chicken wings which was cooked perfectly and was so tender but unfortunately there wasn’t enough seasoning on the them. Not enough flavour. The grass fed beef burger was cooked really well medium rare as I ordered. Again there was no wow factor. As a whole great place to go the only reason why I’ve given 4 instead of 5 is because I think the food could be improved to the next level.

I tried it for the first time and I had a great experience from the food to the service to the ambiance. Go early if you want to get a table without booking.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant! Really great drinks, food, and atmosphere. Cozy and small with a friendly but timely wait staff. I had the mussels which were fantastic and the burger. Highly recommend!

Skillet Cornbread is so good. First eating cornbread with real coin. Also sweet corn is fresh and from meters farm daily! Beef burgers and organic chicken wings are also delicious!!

We read in Newsday that Rustic Root was a 'sister ' restaurant to Blackbird in Wantagh. Now we love Blackbird so we gave Root a try. Went last weds fairly late and was surprised by the number of diners still there close to closing (8:30). Tucked away in a corner in a strip mall the front is pretty nondescript. Once you go inside you 're transported to a charming bistro. My wife I felt right at home. The menu is small seasonal but everything looked like great care was taken for the selections. … – show
