I've been coming here for 10 years. In my opinion this is the most creative cocktail bar in NYC. I've never had the same drink twice, and never been disappointed. The menu is constantly changing and the level of thought that goes into the theme is without comparison. Why more places haven't used spirit grids is beyond me. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Pouring Ribbons:
Came across town but wasn’t allowed in with ID and a photo of my vaccine card. I keep the real one safe not worth carrying it about just to get into a bar. Disappointing View all feedback.
Love this place. Always great drinks and knowledgeable service. Been going for years. Will be sad to see it close next month.
My wife and I were visiting from Boston a few weeks ago and were excited to visit Pouring Ribbons, especially since we're big Joaquín Simó fans from his great articles and cocktail recipes. After trekking in from Brooklyn, we were hugely disappointed to discover that Pouring Ribbons is about the only bar in America to require your PHYSICAL vaccine card rather than just a picture of it plus your ID. Of course they also take the app, which we didn't have because we don't live in New York. Perhaps they've changed since, but this policy and its application really put us off. I say that as someone who is as strongly in favor of public health, science, masks, vaccines, boosters, etc. as can be :
Very interesting cocktails. The spot is way bigger then I thought. I will come back to try more things from their menu.
Cute cocktail bar in the East Village. Good vibes good music good cocktails. Great for a date spot or low key evening with a few friends.
Hands down the best cocktail bar in NYC. I'm a little biased, but that's because I've been a regular here for over 3 years. Their drinks are creative and delicious, and they keep their menu fresh. But the best part of this bar are the bartenders, they are skilled, knowledgeable, and willing to accommodate all tastes. That's the reason why the atmosphere is so unpretentious and laid back.Update:With the news that Pouring Ribbons is officially closing, if you haven't visited this cocktail bar yet, this is the time to do it because this bar will go down in NYC cocktail history. This bar has produced some of the most skilled bartenders I've ever been served by, and their cocktails have always been some of the best.I will miss this place and especially the people that I've been priveleged to meet and all that they have taught me about cocktails.
