**Restaurant Review: Hyo Dong Gak** Nestled in the heart of New York’s Koreatown, Hyo Dong Gak stands out for its authentic Korean-Chinese dishes, particularly the jjambong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and jjajangmyun (black bean noodles), both celebrated for their generous portions and rich flavors. While many diners rave about the food, they note inconsistent service, with complaints about seating policies and wait times that detract from the experience. The ambiance aligns with a typical Korean eatery, though cleanliness has raised some concerns. For those seeking hearty, flavorful meals, Hyo Dong Gak remains a worthy, albeit sometimes frustrating, culinary choice.
The small portion of tang soo yuk was delicious and just right for two people to share with jajangmyun, or for one very hungry individual.
I'm not sure why everything tasted either bland or as if it had been mixed with a scorched plastic spoon, but the flavors were definitely off.
Delicious! I've been enjoying jajangmyun from Shanghai Mong for years, but I decided to try delivery for the first time, and it was so much better! There's more flavor and more pork. I’ll definitely be ordering from here from now on!
Last time I ordered noodles with brown sauce, it came with a large container of sauce, so the extra noodles were worth it. this time the sauce was small, only enough for one serving.
The jjajangmyeon was great, noodles just had to be separated with hot water because they got clumpy.
