I appreciate that they are open late at night. The sandwiches are a generous size and are served with a bag of chips. However, they are pressed on a Panini grill. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Green Apple Gourmet Food:
This deli on Broadway is a nice, clean, and pretty efficient spot that is convenient for a quick meal. However, the prices are on the higher side, which is to be expected given the prime location. Expect to pay more than $2-3 for your meal. View all feedback.
We were planning to eat at Ellen's Stardust Diner but saw the line wrapped around the building and decided we were too hungry to wait. Kinda glad that happened! We walked around a few minutes and found Green Apple. We went in and looked around as they were busy but there was no line. We chose a panini sandwich from behind the counter. The Mexicano. It took a little longer then expected to get it, but they were busy and I think the guy just go overwhelmed. That being said, he was very friendly and apologized for the wait. We also got fruit from the salad/fruit bar. Decent drink selection also. Prices were average and well worth it. Check out was efficient and the ladies who rang up our order were both very friendly and made sure that we had everything that we needed. We went upstairs to eat and it was small but had plenty of seating. There were empty tables. Our food was delicious. The sandwich was a bit spicy for us, but that was on us. We read the description and saw that it would have some spice to it. The fruit was fresh and juicy. My only complaint would be the restroom. There was only one and there was a line for it. Apparently the employees have to use the same one because one employee was in there a while. I went in right after her and there was no toilet paper. Okay. But then I went to wash my hands and there was no soap! That concerned me a bit. I pray that they have a sink downstairs to wash their hands at. We would certainly go back again. It was a bit warm upstairs but they have seating out in Times Square too and we would like to sit there next time.
During Memorial Day weekend, my wife and I were in Manhattan and decided to stay in for dinner. We ordered food from this place and were impressed by the quick delivery and excellent quality of the food. We ordered a 12 inch honey turkey sub, a fully stuffed tomato basil Italian wrap, and a Reuben sandwich, all of which were delicious. The delivery person was very polite and the total cost for three large sandwiches, delivery, and a 20% tip came out to $35.00, which we felt was a fair price for the great food and service.
The food at this restaurant is excellent, especially considering that it is half off after 7pm. It is the best deal in the area for quality meats and seafood. I eat there at least 4 times a week. The buffet menu changes slightly from day to day.
I absolutely loved this restaurant and wish we had discovered it sooner during our trip. The breakfast sandwich that was made to order still makes my mouth water whenever I think about it. We returned later in the day to pick up some food for our bus ride home and the fruit on the salad bar was fresh and ripe. I have never had mango that good in this country before.
