Nestled in New Westminster, Rong Rong Tea House offers a unique slice of Taiwanese culture through its authentic dishes. While some diners express disappointment over certain menu items, many rave about the restaurant's beef noodle soup, hailed as the closest approximation to what one might find in Taiwan. With limited seating and a cozy ambiance, Rong Rong is a charming spot to dine in or take out, particularly for those yearning for genuine Taiwanese flavors away from the bustling streets of Vancouver.

Was Jacqueline Lee at Rong Rong a mag?
Delicious chicken nuggets! Very good prices too. Can still do takeaway during covid lockdowns. Would also recommend the ginger scallion chicken rice.EDIT: we’ve been getting takeout consistently for a couple of years from Rong Rong and recently went to dine in in person and can confidently say that this place is a true hidden gem. A huge combo meal for $14, friendly service and amazing quality. View all feedback.

What average joe dislikes about Rong Rong:
food was subpar, Beef noodle soup came out barely Luke-warm. flavor was lacking (mostly soy sauce in water) fried squid is not worth the price you are charging. Would not recommend and will not return. best comparison is a high school cafeteria. View all feedback.

There's nothing particularly special about Rong's, but it's worth a visit for its unique menu featuring Taiwanese dishes. If you've been to Taiwan and miss the cuisine, you'll appreciate dishes like thinly pounded pork chops coated in sweet potato starch and fried. The decor includes colorful posterboard cutouts on the walls, and the staff seem relaxed and at home, making no effort to appear busy.

During one of my regular visits to New Westminster, I came across a small and cozy restaurant called Rong Rong Tea House, located across from Douglas College. Intrigued by its quaint appearance, I made a mental note to visit it in the near future. The restaurant is slightly hidden from 8th Street, with its entrance on Agnes Street. Upon entering, I found the main seating area towards the back, with about 18-20 seats. The friendly elderly lady who welcomed me proudly serves homemade Taiwanese dishes, sharing that she previously ran Beautiful Island on Imperial Street before relocating to this spot.
