Island Dish - New Tecumseth

Too bad more people dont know about this little restaurant. Claudia was amazing on my first visit and let me try different things. The jerk chicken and curried chicken were outstanding, I just wanted a quick snack so I got the best jamaican patty I ever had and will definitely be going back. Such a nice lady- it feels like you are going home when you walk in. Im going today I think for some of that curried chicken!

I've tried it a few times for lunch. I have had the jerk chicken and the curried Chicken Lunch specials. Everything is prepped and kept in warmers. The chicken was tasty, the rice was alright.

Island Dish is located on Victoria St. across from Banting High School. I've tried a few of the restaurant's dishes and my favorites are the chicken roti, fried dumplings and the jerk chicken wings. The roti is huge and very inexpensive and the wings are packed with the taste of the Carribean. They have a fairly large menu and everything is homemade. Enjoy!

My family and I, who are Chinese with some Cantonese heritage, have dined at many yum cha (dim sum) restaurants. Every weekend, we enjoy trying out different places for this traditional Chinese meal.

The standout dish at this restaurant is the vegetarian tofu rice noodle served during dim sum hours.
