This is a BBQ restaurant for those who know BBQ and know something about what it takes to create great BBQ. I've been here a number of times and have had about every meat item on their menu and was always impressed. They even know how to smoke whitemeat chicken that turns out moist and juicy. This place is owner run with a big smoker out back. Portions are LARGE not skimpy.Smoked spare ribs and burnt ends are a must... View all feedback.

Excellent authentic BBQ. Burnt ends were fantastic. Really enjoyed the sauces on the table. Don't wait to order, when they're out, they're out. Orange muffins are really good as well, if not for dessert, then breakfast the next day.
I love barbecue. It 's my favorite type of food. I 've learned over the years that excellent barbecue starts with the pitmaster. I don 't know who fills that role at Sundown Smokehouse but he/she knows what they are doing. I had a pulled pork platter withcorn bread, green beans, and potato salad. I 've never had better pulled pork. It was moist and tender. Probably smoked for 18to 20 hours. Served unsauced, as it should be. Four sauces on the table to choose from. I tried all four. Each is a winner. Settled on Mustang Sally , the mustard based sauce. My favorite type of barbecue sauce. I think there was a fifth sauce. Ahot one. But like all restaurants I 've been to, the spicy barbecue sauce is kept behind the counter. The sides were alsodelicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant is small compared to some of the competition but I muchprefer that. One thing that really struck me was how clean it was. Exceptionally so. I read somewhere that they may run out ofsome foods. True to that statement, burnt ends were sold out when I arrived. No worries. That just means I have to go back totry them. I 'll be going several times because I can 't wait to try all the meats. When have you ever heard of any major barbecuechain restaurant running out of product? I never have. Know why? Because their product isn 't in high enough demand to runout. If a restaurant runs out of product due to high demand, you know this is the place to go. This is the true sign of agreat barbecue restaurant. I 've found a real gem. I 'll be a regular customer. You should try it. You will love it too.
Wow, what a genuine find for a hometown BBQ joint in NSB! Our first time eating there was a couple weeks ago and it was fabulous. The ribs are incredible so get there early before they sell out. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and it wasvery tasty and moist. I also had the brisket which was sliced and very moist. All of the sides were also fantastic. We cameback today and again it was an outstanding meal. Had their smoked chicken wings along with other meals. The flavor isphenomenal and the BBQ sauces are a perfect compliment. The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. I almost don?t want tolet anyone know how good this place is so we can keep it to ourselves. The owner Mark is a world champion BBQ pit master andhis BBQ definitely makes that statement. Enjoy!

Jayme really explained each dish we inquired about and made each item so enticing, it washard to decide on what to order. Definitely will come back and try other dishes.
