Horrible service. Bar staff was VERY stupid rude. On Feb 7th the bar was quite empty while the 6 Nations Rugby match was on (France vs Scotland). After a dinner some where else, a friend, my wife myself decided to have a Hot whisky and Irish coffee in a pub instead of going to a normal coffee place. I went with friends after a comedy gig. Being a fan of craft beers there was a lot to choose from. It was also the first bar I've ever been to where the bartender made recommendations baled on what we were drinking. Very impressed. Would go again.

My friend booked the upstairs room at Solas Bar for her birthday last night. The evening started off well but was completely ruined by a very rude bartender who lacked any level of civility when speaking to customers. I ordered a vodka and tonic and brought them to my table, but when the birthday cake was brought out and everyone stood up to take photos and sing Happy Birthday, I realized that the bar lady had cleared the empty glasses and taken my vodka with it. I went up to the bar to inform the bartender, who immediately became aggressive and stated that I should have watched my drink. I explained that a member of the staff had taken it, but he rudely dismissed my concern. My boyfriend later tried to purchase me another drink, suggesting that the bartender should be more polite when a staff member takes a paid drink away, but he was met with the same rudeness. I was deeply upset by the bartender's behavior and will not be recommending this venue in the future. It seems that other reviews also highlight the rudeness of some staff members, which is completely justified.

Went here on Saturday they had ran out of prosecco they were very rude about it (we were a group of 14) but the bar itself seems nice, good layout etc

I was upstairs and it was crowded and loud. The bartender and waitress were very efficient, polite, and helpful. I don't drink alcohol, so it can be difficult to find a nice drink sometimes. I had a delicious Ginger Ale and a virgin Caesar. I also enjoyed fried calamari and spring rolls, which were tasty and greasy. It's a great place to socialize and have a good time. The terrace is a nice spot to get some fresh air or enjoy a cigarette.
