Runa - New Paltz

In case anyone else is hesitant to make the long drive out here due to outdated information on Google, I wanted to share my experience. While I understand that everyone deserves a break, that doesn’t excuse the lack of updates on your Google Business page. I certainly didn't want to spend 40 minutes only to discover this. In 2023, your website should be the primary source for your hours, not just Google.

The food was outstanding! We began with the shrimp, prepared Spanish style with garlic and oil, and the burrata special. My wife opted for the steak special, while I chose the rainbow trout. Every dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. For dessert, we shared a rich brownie with ice cream, and we enjoyed a total of four glasses of wine—all at very reasonable prices. We sat outside, and the atmosphere was delightful. It felt like The Village Tea Room had returned, only even better! The service was fantastic—both friendly and efficient. My only minor complaint was regarding the receipt, which suggested different tip percentages based on the total including tax. I’ve encountered this in a few other places, and I believe tips should be calculated on the pre-tax amount. Nonetheless, I happily tipped a little over 20%. New Paltz holds a special place in my heart since I attended school there many years ago. We look forward to returning!

I dropped in without a reservation on a lovely Friday evening and was delighted to find live music, sunshine, and a table available on the patio. The atmosphere was charming and cozy, and the cocktail specials were both delicious and refreshing!

Had the absolute pleasure of eating here recently after a long awaited visit. Food did not dissapoint, stunning setting, knowledgable staff and Fabulous Cocktails. Wish i lived close by to make it my go to spot..

This is the absolute best kept secret in New Paltz. We had the pleasure of dining at Runa on the Friday night of graduation weekend. Upon arrival, we met Clare the chef/owner., who went over the menu and specials. We decided to order family style so we could sample a little bit of everything. Mushroom toast, potato bravas, duck confit, roasted chicken, strip steak, asparagus and zucchini. For dessert, a flourless chocolate torte. The flavors, the presentation, the service, the setting, all A plus. I look forward to returning to Runa to try the rest of the menu!
